دکھوں کے دشت غموں کے نگر میں چھوڑ آئے
وہ ہم سفر کہ جنہیں ہم سفر میں چھوڑ آئے
بہت جمیل سی یادوں کو ساتھ لے آئے
بہت ملول سے چہروں کو گھر میں چھوڑ آئے
بڑے قرینے سے ہم آ گئے کنارے پر
بڑے سلیقے سے کشتی بھنور میں چھوڑ آئے
کس اہتمام سے اب تک پکارتی ہیں ہمیں
وہ چاہتیں جنہیں دیوار و در میں چھوڑ آئے
بہت عجیب تھے وہ لوگ جو دم رخصت
کئی کہانیاں اس چشم تر میں چھوڑ آئے
نہ دن ہی پھرتے ہیں محسنؔ نہ شب بدلتی ہے
وطن کو کون سے شام و سحر میں چھوڑ آئے
