جو غم ملے تھے ہم سے سنبھالے نہیں گئے
یہ کم نہیں ہے در سے جو ٹالے نہیں گئے
اک بار اس کو سوچ لیا تھا خیال نے
پھر اس کے بعد دور اجالے نہیں گئے
کچھ ایسے راستے بھی جنوں کی ہیں یادگار
جو راستے کسی سے نکالے نہیں گئے
جمتا نہ میرے نام پہ تشکیک کا غبار
تاریخ کے ورق ہی کھنگالے نہیں گئے
ان منظروں کے واسطے ہم کو چنا گیا
نیزوں پہ سر تمہارے اچھالے نہیں گئے
اک راز جو بتا دیا اس کی نگاہ نے
پھر دور اس سے قافلے والے نہیں گئے
آنکھوں میں اس کی نورؔ چمک تھی یقین کی
بے کار میرے پاؤں کے چھالے نہیں گئے

ek bar us ko soch liya tha KHayal ne
phir is ke baad dur ujale nahin gae
kuchh aise raste bhi junun ki hain yaadgar
jo raste kisi se nikale nahin gae
jamta na mere nam pe tashkik ka ghubar
tariKH ke waraq hi khangale nahin gae
in manzaron ke waste hum ko chuna gaya
nezon pe sar tumhaare uchhaale nahin gae
ek raaz jo bata diya us ki nigah ne
phir dur us se qafile wale nahin gae
aankhon mein us ki 'nur' chamak thi yaqin ki
bekar mere paon ke chhaale nahin gae
