وُہ میرے ھاتھ سے یُوں بھی نِکلتا جاتا تھا

عجِیب شخص تھا خوابوں میں ڈھلتا جاتا تھا

وُہ شام کِس کی امانت تھی؟ کِس کو سونپ آیا؟

نِدامتوں سے مِرا دل پِگھلتا جاتا تھا

مُجھے بھی رنج تھا ایسا بیان ھو نہ سکا

اُسے بھی دُکھ تھا کوئی، جِس میں گلتا جاتا تھا

کِسی کا مُجھ سے بِچھڑنا کبھی نہ بُھول سکا

رُکے رُکے ھُوئے قدموں سے چلتا جاتا تھا

میں اُس کی بزم میں خُود کو سمیٹے بیٹھا رہا

بہت سنبھالا مگر دل پِھسلتا جاتا تھا

جو آدمی کی نفی تھا، غُرُور تھا جس کو

ابھی تو دیکھا اُسے، ھاتھ ملتا جاتا تھا

فقط خیال سمجھ کر جھٹک دیا تھا جسے

مِرے وجُود کو اب وُہ نِگلتا جاتا تھا

کِسی غریب کے بچے کی طرح میرا دل

کِھلونے دیکھتا جاتا، مچلتا جاتا تھا

رشید مُجھ پہ کوئی وقت ایسا گزرا ھے

شراب پِیتا تو کُچھ کُچھ سنبھلتا جاتا تھا
