حادثے زیست کی توقیر بڑھا دیتے ہیں

اے غم یار تجھے ہم تو دعا دیتے ہیں

تیرے اخلاص کے افسوں ترے وعدوں کے طلسم

ٹوٹ جاتے ہیں تو کچھ اور مزا دیتے ہیں

کوئے محبوب سے چپ چاپ گزرنے والے

عرصۂ زیست میں اک حشر اٹھا دیتے ہیں

ہاں یہی خاک بسر سوختہ ساماں اے دوست

تیرے قدموں میں ستاروں کو جھکا دیتے ہیں

سینہ چاکان محبت کو خبر ہے کہ نہیں

شہر خوباں کے در و بام صدا دیتے ہیں

ہم نے اس کے لب و رخسار کو چھو کر دیکھا

حوصلے آگ کو گلزار بنا دیتے ہیں
