تھوڑا سا ماحول بنانا ہوتا ہے

ورنہ کسی کے ساتھ زمانہ ہوتا ہے

سچا شعر سنانے والے ختم ہوئے

اب تو خالی کھیل دکھانا ہوتا ہے

آنسو پہلی شرط ہے اس سمجھوتے کی

غم تو سانسوں کا جرمانہ ہوتا ہے

لال قلعے کی دیواروں پر لکھوا دو

دل سب سے محفوظ ٹھکانا ہوتا ہے

دنیا میں بھر مار ہے نقلی لوگوں کی

سو میں کوئی ایک دوانہ ہوتا ہے

رات ہمارے گھر جلدی آ جایا کر

ہمیں سویرے کام پہ جانا ہوتا ہے

ایسی کوئی بات نہیں مایوسی کی

سچ میں تھوڑا سا افسانہ ہوتا ہے

سب کی اپنی ایک اکائی ہوتی ہے

سب کا اپنا ایک زمانہ ہوتا ہے

ہم نے تو ان کو بھی لٹتے دیکھا ہے

جن کے چار قدم پر تھانہ ہوتا ہے

آج بچھڑتے وقت مجھے معلوم ہوا

لوگوں میں احساس کا خانہ ہوتا ہے
