یار کو دیدۂ خوں بار سے اوجھل کر کے

یار کو دیدۂ خوں بار سے اوجھل کر کے

مجھ کو حالات نے مارا ہے مکمل کر کے

جانب شہر فقیروں کی طرح کوہ گراں

پھینک دیتا ہے بخارات کو بادل کر کے

جل اٹھیں روح کے گھاؤ تو چھڑک دیتا ہوں

چاندنی میں تری یادوں کی مہک حل کر کے

دل وہ مجذوب مغنی کہ جلا دیتا ہے

ایک ہی آہ سے ہر خواب کو جل تھل کر کے

جانے کس لمحۂ وحشی کی طلب ہے کہ فلک

دیکھنا چاہے مرے شہر کو جنگل کر کے

یعنی ترتیب کرم کا بھی سلیقہ تھا اسے

اس نے پتھر بھی اٹھایا مجھے پاگل کر کے

عید کا دن ہے سو کمرے میں پڑا ہوں اسلمؔ

اپنے دروازے کو باہر سے مقفل کر کے
