نہ پھر وہ تم تھے

نہ جانے کتنی مسافتیں درمیاں کھڑی تھیں

اس ایک لمحے کے آئینے پر

نہ جانے کتنے برس پریشان دھول کی طرح سے جمے تھے

جنہیں رفاقت سمجھ کے ہم دونوں مطمئن تھے

اس ایک لمحے کے آئینے میں

جب اپنے اپنے نقاب الٹ کر

خود اپنے چہروں کو ہم نے دیکھا

تو ایک لمحہ

وہ ایک لمحے کا آئینہ کتنی صدیوں کتنے ہزار میلوں کی شکل میں

درمیاں کھڑا تھا

نہ پھر وہ میں تھا نہ پھر وہ تم تھے

بس ایک ویراں خموش صحرا بس ایک ویراں خموش صحرا
