نئے خوابوں سے ڈر لگنے لگا ہے
یہ رستہ پر خطر لگنے لگا ہے
یہ کیسا دور آیا بے حسی کا
مجھے زندان گھر لگنے لگا ہے
بچھڑ جائے گا تو مجھ سے کسی دن
نہ لگتا تھا مگر لگنے لگا ہے
ذرا دیکھو مری سادہ طبیعت
کہ قاتل چارہ گر لگنے لگا ہے
سفر میں ہم سفر تم کیا ہوئے ہو
سفر اب مختصر لگنے لگا ہے
خلیلؔ اس سے تمہیں نفرت تھی لیکن
تمہیں کیوں معتبر لگنے لگا ہے

mujhe zindan ghar lagne laga hai
bichhaD jaega tu mujh se kisi din
na lagta tha magar lagne laga hai
zara dekho meri sada tabiat
ki qatil chaaragar lagne laga hai
safar mein ham-safar tum kya hue ho
safar ab muKHtasar lagne laga hai
'KHalil' us se tumhein nafrat thi lekin
tumhein kyun mo'atabar lagne laga hai
