یوں نہیں تھا کہ تیرگی کم تھی

دھوپ سے اپنی دوستی کم تھی

خواہشوں کے ہجوم تھے لیکن

اپنے حصہ میں زندگی کم تھی

تم نہ آئے تو بس ہوا اتنا

کل چراغوں میں روشنی کم تھی

ہاں وہ ہنس کر نہیں ملا پھر بھی

اس کی باتوں میں بے رخی کم تھی

غم اسے بھی نہ تھا بچھڑنے کا

میری آنکھوں میں بھی نمی کم تھی

کچھ تغافل مزاج تھا ساقی

اور کچھ اپنی پیاس بھی کم تھی

اس کا لہجہ تو خوب تھا لیکن

اس کے شعروں میں شاعری کم تھی

کیوں مجھے دے گیا وہ سناٹے

کیا مرے گھر میں خامشی کم تھی
