وہ مل گئے بھی تو ہم دیر تک اداس رہے

یہ انجمن تو ستم کو ستم ہی سمجھے گی

ترا کرم کہ ہمیں ہم ادا شناس رہے

وہ چاک دامنئ گل کا راز کیا جانیں

بھری بہار میں جو خار بے لباس رہے

جنوں ہے ایک جسارت جنوں ہے ایک ترنگ

خرد نہیں کہ اسیر امید و یاس رہے

نہ ٹوٹنا تھا نہ ٹوٹا غرور گمراہی

پہنچ گئے بھی تو منزل کے آس پاس رہے

نگاہ تک تو اٹھا دی کسی نے جام کے ساتھ

جو پھر بھی رہتی ہے خاورؔ تو اپنی پیاس رہے
