اس کا صدمہ نہیں، ہم اجڑیں کہ ناشاد رہیں
نس یہ حسرت ہے کہ وہ خوش رہیں آباد رہیں
اپنے ہاتھوں سے کیا اپنی تمنّاؤں کا خوں
کیا کسی سے کہیں، کیوں مائلِ فریاد رہیں
تم پر بربادءِ دل کا نہیں کوئی الزام !
اپنی تقدیر میں لکھا تھا کہ برباد رہیں
چُھوٹ کے ہم سے مبارک اُنہیں لاکھوں خوشیاں
ہاں مگر ایک تمنا ہے کہ ہم یاد رہیں
میرے دل میں ابھی کچھ اور سکوں باقی ہے
آپ کچھ اور ابھی خوگرِبیداد رہیں
اپنا دل جب ہے غنی دولتِ خود داری سے
پھر کسی اور سے کیوں طالبِ امداد رہیں
حاصلِ زیست ہیں بس ضبط و وفا اے عالم
اپنے افسانے کے دو لفظ یہ بنیاد رہیں
