نہ صحن و بام نہ دیوار و در پرانے ہیں

نہ صحن و بام نہ دیوار و در پرانے ہیں

اگر مکیں ہیں پرانے تو گھر پرانے ہیں

سخاوتوں ہی کے دم سے ہے تازگی کا بھرم

ثمر نہ دیں تو یقیناً شجر پرانے ہیں

دل ایسی صورت تعمیر پر جمے کب تک

تمام نقش ہی دیوار پر پرانے ہیں

ہوا کی لہر ہے اب جس طرح بھی شہرت دے

جنوں پرانا نہ آشفتہ سر پرانے ہیں

قباحتیں تو یہیں ہیں مسافتوں میں مری

سفر نیا ہے شریک سفر پرانے ہیں

میں نابلد ہوں رفو کی روایتوں سے تو پھر

نکلتے کیوں نہیں جو بخیہ گر پرانے ہیں

یہ ربط خیر نشاں ہے صف ہنر کے لیے

جو کچھ نئے ہیں تو کچھ دیدہ ور پرانے ہیں

سبھی خرابے ہیں دوش زمیں پہ بار مگر

زیادہ بوجھ وہ ہیں جو کھنڈر پرانے ہیں
