کوئی مجھ کو پکارتا تو نہیں

بول اے اختر غنودۂ‌ صبح

کوئی راتوں کو جاگتا تو نہیں

سن کہ یہ مدد و جزر‌ ساحل بحر

ماجراؤں کا ماجرا تو نہیں

ذہن پر ایک کھردری سی لکیر

کنکھجورے کا راستا تو نہیں

ریت پر چڑھ رہی ہے ریت کی تہہ

بابل و مصر و نینوا تو نہیں

نوک ہر خار و خس ہے خوں آلود

روح صحرا برہنہ پا تو نہیں

اے مری جان مبتلا کے سکوں

تو کوئی جان مبتلا تو نہیں

تیرے جسم حسیں میں خوابیدہ

باغ جنت کا اژدہا تو نہیں
