کوئی چراغ تو ایسا بھی میرے گھر میں رہے

بنا بنا کے بگاڑا گیا ہمیں اکثر

مثال کوزہ کسی دست کوزہ گر میں رہے

حصار عشق سے باہر نکل سکے نہ کبھی

کہ ہم بچھڑ کے بھی تجھ سے ترے اثر میں رہے

رہ سفر میں سر شام ہم ٹھہر تو گئے

مگر کچھ ایسے کہ جیسے کوئی سفر میں رہے

فراق یار ہی تقدیر ہو تو کیا کیجے

وصال یار کا سودا ہزار سر میں رہے

نگاہ خوب سہی دوسروں کے عیبوں پر

مگر خود اپنا گریبان بھی نظر میں رہے

نہ ہو خوشی کا گماں ایسے غم پہ کیوں خاورؔ

جو غم خوشی کی طرح قلب معتبر میں رہے
