نحیف تنکا بھلا تیز دھار کیا جانے

نہ کر سکے گا وہ دریا کو پار کیا جانے

حیات کی یہ نہایت طویل راہگزار

مسافروں کی تھکن کا شمار کیا جانے

مسرّتوں میں چھپا حسن دل کو کیا معلوم

یہ ریگزار جمالِ بہار کیا جانے

وہ ہم سے عمر بتانے کی بات کرتا ہے

ہمیں تو سانس بھی لینا ہے بار کیا جانے

نشے میں ہے جو مسرّت کا جام پی کے عبید

وہ حادثات کی مے کا خمار کیا جانے
