کوئی ثبوت نہ ہوگا تمہارے ہونے کا

نہ آیا فن جو قلم خون میں ڈبونے کا

ہر ایک بات پہ بس قہقہے برستے ہیں

یہ طرز کتنا نرالا ہے دل کے رونے کا

شروع تم نے کیا تھا تمہیں بھگتنا ہے

جو سلسلہ تھا غلط فہمیوں کو بونے کا

شناخت ہو تو گئی اپنے اور پرائے کی

نہیں ہے غم مجھے عمر عزیز کھونے کا

رئیسؔ فکر سخن رات بھر جگاتی ہے

کوئی بھی وقت مقرر نہیں ہے سونے کا

na aaya fan jo qalam KHun mein Dubone ka

har ek baat pe bas qahqahe baraste hain
ye tarz kitna nirala hai dil ke rone ka

shuru tum ne kiya tha tumhein bhugatna hai
jo silsila tha ghalat-fahmiyon ko bone ka

shanaKHt ho to gai apne aur parae ki
nahin hai gham mujhe umr-e-aziz khone ka

'rais' fikr-e-suKHan raat bhar jagati hai
koi bhi waqt muqarrar nahin hai sone ka
