بہ رنگ نغمہ بکھر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

کسی کے دل میں اتر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

زمانہ اور ابھی ٹھوکریں لگائے ہمیں

ابھی کچھ اور سنور جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

اسی طرف ہمیں جانے سے روکتا ہے کوئی

وہ ایک سمت جدھر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

وہاں ہمارا کوئی منتظر نہیں پھر بھی

ہمیں نہ روک کہ گھر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

ندی کے پار کھڑا ہے کوئی چراغ لیے

ندی کے پار اتر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

انہیں بھی جینے کے کچھ تجربے ہوئے ہوں گے

جو کہہ رہے ہیں کہ مر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

کچھ اس ادا سے کہ کوئی چراغ بھی نہ بجھے

ہوا کی طرح گزر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم

زیادہ عمر تو ہوتی نہیں گلوں کی مگر

گلوں کی طرح نکھر جانا چاہتے ہیں ہم
