In 2008 General National Assembly Election, Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan from Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians was elected as Member National Assembly MNA, and got 34443 votes, the second runner up was Arbab Najeeb Ullah Khan Khalil from Awami National Party who got 23992 votes. 9 candidates from different political parties & independent candidates contested in the election.
In Election 2008, there were total 314904 voters registered in NA-2, out of which 77892 votes were polled out, 76293 votes were valid and 2003 votes were rejected. The total percentage of valid votes was 24.73 % for NA-2 constituency of National Assembly.
